What is the process?

Diverting equipment or cabling 

1. Complete an application form

To start the process you will need to complete an application form. You can download this or apply online. For more information pleae call our Customer Application Team on 08450 727270 or use our Product filter to determine the service you require.

2. Application form is processed Once we have your fully completed application form we will process it and send you a unique reference number. For questions at this stage contact hte Customer Application Team on 08450 727270.
3. Design & quotation The scheme will be designed in line with the Central Networks design manual to meet the requirements detailed in your application. If we need to confirm details with you then your design engineer will contact you. You will get a quotation or estimate for connecting you to the network. The quotation will be valid for 30 days from the date of the quote. Your estimator will be your point of contact at this stage and contact details will be provided.
4. Acceptance Once you've accepted and paid for the quotation we'll prepare your project for the construction phase. Our work packaging team will raise your invoice and provide you with your MPAN(s). You will need this number(s) when you register with your chosen electricity supplier. Energy Services is not a supplier and we can't make these arrangements for you, this is your responsibility. Work instructions will be created and issued to our construction department for scheduling. You will receive a letter detailing next steps and your point of contact.
5. Wayleaves & legal If your scheme involves the need to obtain consent to cross third party land or to complete a legal deed it will be detailed in your quote letter. When we have your quote acceptance we will raise a work request to obtain these consents.You will be allocated a wayleave delivery manager who will contact you to discuss the scheme and provide updates on progress. Once we have the necessary consents the wayleave delivery manager will pass authorisation to the Project Manager to start programming the connection.
6. Construction The Construction department will allocate you a Project Manager who will be your point of contact throughout the construction phase of your scheme, they will liaise with you to programme the work and complete your connection.
We use our internal work force and accredited third parties to complete the connections.
It should be noted that work cannot start on site until all wayleave consents and legal deeds have been completed. The start date may also be affected by other factors such as Traffic Management and Opening Notices for excavation in the highway.
