What is the customer responsible for?
- You must make arrangements for your own qualified Electrician to be on site at the time of/or close to the time of us carrying out the move of the equipment that is our responsibility. The Electrician will need to be present to re-connect the equipment that is your responsibility in order for your supply to be restored.
- Your internal wiring must comply with current wiring regulations (BS7671) and you must be able to provide a current electrical completion certificate upon request.
- When returning the enclosed application pack you must provide suitable drawings of the requested alteration in order for us to be able to process you application. If the drawings are not included or are not suitable it will be returned.
- In most cases where an alteration is being carried out a Protective Multiple Earth system (PME) will be installed, but please note we are not obliged to fit a PME and/or it may not be available on the network at the property. If this is the case your electrician should be able to advise you on other forms of earthing.
- Customers must provide and install their own meter box(es) prior to our arrival on site.
- In some areas we are unable to reconnect two and three-rate meters and three phase meters. If you indicate on the ‘Service Alteration Questionnaire’ that your metering is of one of these types, we will notify you in advance of the works if we need you to arrange for the electricity supplier to reconnect your meter following our work (it is advisable that this arranged for the same day as our works).
