What information do I need?

Plans

So that we can identify your property/development and give you an accurate quotation for the work, we'll need you to provide plans of the location and site layout.

Boundary Plan

Please provide a plan clearly showing the ownership and boundaries of your site. Where appropriate, we will design a   utility route that is within the boundary of your land, avoiding the need for third party agreement. This can reduce legal costs and lead times required to complete the work. This information may be available from:

  • the Land Registry
  • your planning application
  • your property deeds
  • hand drawings on an existing plan.

Meter position

Please make sure that your existing and proposed new meter positions are clearly marked on your site layout plan.

Gas Meter Position

Clearly mark on your drawing your preferred gas meter location. Please note: We would expect new meter positions to be on the front profile of the building or at the side of the building within 2 meters of the front wall.

You are further advised to chosse a location where there is a reasonably clear route from the proposed meter postion to the property boundary and there are no manhole covers or drains under the meter position and along the proposed route of the gas supply pipe.

Electric

We need to know your maximum power required in kva. If the application is for a site with motors the electric load you require may be disturbing. Please provide such details in the application section, along with your electrical load requirements.

To calculate your load requirements please use our load calculator

Gas & Water

If you require us to provide onsite water mains and services to supply your development, you can either supply the water companies design, or alternatively we can design and cost the onsite infrastructure for you. Please note however that upon acceptance a self lay agreement and associated works will be required by the water utility.

We shall need to know the type of property on each of your plots e.g. 1 bed flat, 2 bed attached, 3 bed semi-detached etc and on the application form you will need to record the number of plots you have of each type or property to enable us to calculate the total gas load for your development.
