Constructed during 1993 commercial generation of electricity began in July 1994. The St Breock Wind Farm is capable of generating enough renewable energy to supply over 2500 homes, saving the emission of 5593 tonnes of carbon dioxide, 43 tonnes of sulphur dioxide and 15 tonnes of oxides of nitrogen annually.

The wind turbines are situated on a ridge approximately 200m above sea level. The site is adjacent to several ancient monuments, including the St Breock Downs monolith, none of which were disturbed during construction of the wind farm. The site continues to be used for grazing sheep.
