Commissioned in November 1992 the wind turbines are sited on agricultural land approximately 50 metres above sea level. The wind farm was developed by TriGen Windpower Limited and constructed by Toyo West (UK) Limited and is now owned by TPG Wind Limited, a joint venture between E.ON UK Renewables and Eurus Energy Europe BV.
The wind farm can generate enough energy to meet the average domestic needs of 4000 households and displaces the emission of 8136 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
