Rheidol Wind Farm was commissioned in 1997 and is located near to our hydro-electric power station in Wales. The wind farm can generate enough energy to power over 1000 homes and displace the emission of 2712 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually.
In 2006 Rheidol Wind Farm took part in the British Wind Energy Association's Wind Weekend - visitors to the site were able to take a tour up to the wind farm to find out how it works as well as enjoying the interactive models and displays at our visitors centre.
The visitors centre is open from Easter weekend and 1 May to 30 September. Admission is free and there are free guided tours of the hydro-electric power station from 11.00 - 15.30.
