Ovenden Moor Repower

Latest News

March   2013

We've finished work putting up a temporary, 80m anemometer (met) mast on Ovenden Moor. The mast will now gather information about the wind and other weather-related data, which will help us decide which type of turbine will be most suitable for the site.

We're delighted that Calderdale Council voted unanimously in favour of the repower of Ovenden Moor Wind Farm. Wind power technology has come a long way since Ovenden Moor was first built and the planned nine new turbines will be able to produce more than twice as much power than the existing 23.

Since we submitted our application, we've worked closely with the council and the community to ensure the project is acceptable to them. We'll be offering a Community Benefit Fund to support local community projects for the life time of the wind farm and hope the new development will have a positive effect on the local community.
