The Planning Process

The planning process for a wind farm is long and thorough. We work closely with local authorities and other stakeholders to ensure that everyone benefits from a carefully planned wind farm. When looking to position our turbines we look at issues such as:

• Distance to the nearest dwellings
• Wildlife and their use of the area including bird migratory routes
• Environmental designations
• Telecommunication links
• Local planning policy

At E.ON our projects move through a development process that typically takes between four and six years.
