Community
Throughout the development and subsequent operation of the project, we are keen to work with local residents to become a valued member of the community.
There are a number of ways in which we try to ensure all residents local to the Holford facility are kept fully informed:
Newsletters
We produce a newsletter which is sent to all residents in the parishes of Allostock, Byley, Cranage, Lach Dennis and Lostock Gralam, detailing the latest construction news and community information.

Emergency Instruction Card
Under the COMAH regulations we need to make you aware of the plans that have been made. We have prepared an Emergency Instruction Card which is distributed to our nearest neighbours and describes the actions that should be taken in the unlikely event of an emergency at the Holford Gas Storage site. A copy of this card can also be downloaded below.

Public exhibitions
At key milestones in the project, we hold drop in sessions for local residents who wish to meet the project team face-to-face. Our last drop in session took place at Byley Village Hall on 17th and 18th August 2011. We do not currently have any further drop in sessions planned, if you do have any questions please
contact us.
Local liaison
A committee of local representatives has set up a forum to keep interested parties up-to-date. Meetings are held on a quarterly basis with regular guest speakers.

Committed to communities
As part of our commitment to being a good neighbour, our community fund has been set up to support projects that benefit people in the local area. Each year, residents from the five local parishes can put forward applications to be in with a chance to take away a slice of the £20,000 fund.
The fund is administered by Cheshire Community Action who review and forward applications to the Local Liaison Committee for consideration.
You can find further information in our funding pack and application form.

Committed to education
We are committed to using our energy expertise to invest in the education of young people. Energy Experience is our free educational resource for schools that helps teach 5-16 year olds about energy locally, nationally and globally.
We also have an engineering game aimed at secondary school students,
plugin2engineering.
