Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS) has awarded E.ON the exclusive right to explore the potential for new wind energy projects over 5 MW on two lots of land within the Scottish National Forest Estate as part of its search for development partners to maximise Scotland's wind potential.

Of the five areas of land, or 'lots', that were made available for tender, E.ON was awarded two lots in the West and North-west of Scotland, covering West Argyll, Lochaber, Invernesshire, Ross, Skye and the Northern Highlands.

We will now begin detailed assessments of the land within the two awarded lots in order to understand its potential before submitting proposals to FCS and considering the submission of planning applications.

FCS will be an active partner in any proposed developments.

We will provide more information as the projects develop.
