Community

We want to be a good neigbour at all of our sites and want to play an active and positive role in the communities where we operate. We aim to make the advantages of electricity generation from renewable energy sources more apparent and tangible to local communities. Our benefits package can include:

An annual community fund

The local community can expect to receive an annual income for the lifetime of the wind farm. This can be spent as the community sees fit, for example books for schools, restoration projects, social enterprise projects and even micro generation technologies.

Energy efficiency advice and products

Energy efficiency advice saves energy and money. Energy efficiency, coupled with renewable energy schemes is critical for reducing green house gas emissions. We offer advice and a number of services.

Provision of educational material to local schools

In 2006 we launched the E.ON Energy Experience, an education program aimed at educating children under the age of 16 about energy. By giving young people the information they need to make informed choices we hope to create an energy literate generation.

E.ON SOURCE

In 2007 we launched E.ON SOURCE an information resource about energy efficiency and microgeneration and a fund for community groups and non profit organisations that wish to pursue and implement sustainable energy measures.

Your ideas

In addition to these events we also support local community events and welcome innovative ideas from your local knowledge and experience. If you are interested in communicating your ideas of how a community could benefit from a local wind farm or if we have a wind farm near you and you have any ideas on how we can get involved in your community then email us
