Wind farms

Onshore wind is the most commerically viable renewable energy technology in the world today and huge advances are being made in the development of offshore wind. In the UK, wind farms are already producing enough electricity to power over one and a half million homes (source: BWEA).

At E.ON we have taken a leading role in the development of wind power in the UK since 1991, when we invested in our first wind farm. We now operate 21 wind farms - both onshore and offshore - and we're currently building Robin Rigg in the Solway Firth, which will be one of the largest offshore wind farms in Europe.

We are committed to the development of further onshore and offshore wind farms and have a significant number of sites in various stages of development.
