Onshore
Onshore wind energy is a relatively mature renewable energy industry and is long-established as a viable option for UK power generation. We invested in our first onshore wind farm in 1991, since then we have used our experience and expertise to develop a portfolio that consists of 18 onshore sites.
In 2006 we began construction on our nineteenth onshore wind farm, Stag's Holt, in Cambridgeshire. Once operational, towards the end of 2007, this nine turbine site will be able to generate power to supply approximately 10,000 homes annually and displace the emission of over 40,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide.
We are actively developing further onshore sites across the UK, if you have a site with potential for a wind farm development download our fact sheet, Turbines on your land, to find out what you have to do next.
