Thornhill CCGT Power Station

Thornhill Power Station is located in Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury.  The station was purchased from Yorkshire Electricity in January 1999, along with a number of other plants as part of E.ON CHP's rapid expansion.  Operational since November 1998, Thornhill is designed to operate to a high degree of flexibility.  The station comprises of an LM6000PB Gas Turbine fuelled by natural gas, a Waste Heat Recovery Boiler, a Steam Turbine and a single shaft Generator.  Thornhill presently operates under instruction from energy traders and acts as a Combined Cycle Gas Turbine Power Station within the E.ON UK CHP portfolio.  Thornhill is a flexible, two-shifting plant providing 50MW electric energy.
