Working with Action for Children
We're thrilled that a new programme called Energy Counts has been created as part of our new charitable partnership with Action for Children.
Action for Children is a national charity delivering services that respond to the local needs of children, young people, their families and communities. They're committed to helping the most vulnerable and neglected children and young people break through injustice, deprivation and inequality, so they can achieve their full potential.
E.ON volunteers provide energy efficiency advice at drop in sessions to help families make small changes in their energy use at home. As part of the scheme, we’re also able to identify those eligible for E.ON hardship funding to further help reduce fuel poverty in vulnerable families.
During 2011 and beyond, there are plans to work in further areas to reach more families. The Energy Counts Programme will give as many people as possible the opportunity to speak with an E.ON volunteer or Action for Children member of staff who are trained to give the accessible advice needed to be comfortable or save energy and money
