Sponsorship
Our UK sponsorships include:
The FA Cup
On 1 August 2006, E.ON became the sponsor of the world’s most famous and oldest domestic knockout cup competition, a deal that lasts until 2010.
During that time, the competition will be known as The FA Cup sponsored by E.ON.
As well as The FA Cup, E.ON is the Sponsor of The FA Women’s Cup; The FA Youth Cup; and is The FA Schools Partner.
Ipswich Town
E.ON UK has renewed its relationship with Ipswich Town Football Club and will be Main Sponsor until 2008. The deal will see E.ON feature on the playing shirts.
During the 2007/8 season, E.ON will be working alongside the club to offer new and exciting opportunities to Ipswich Town fans, Powergen customers, as well as the wider community.
The Tour of Britain
The 2007 Tour of Britain saw E.ON enter its second year as an Official Sponsor of The Tour of Britain and Sponsor of the King of the Mountains – the iconic red polka dot jersey awarded each day to the cyclist who achieves most points over the various elevated sections of the route.
The Tour of Britain cycle race 2007 commenced with a Prologue time trial at Crystal Palace Park, London on Sunday 9 September, and culminated after 7 days of grueling road racing with the sixth and final stage into Glasgow on Saturday 15 September. The race, which started in London covered over 950 kilometres, passed through the South of England, Somerset, the West Midlands, Yorkshire and the North West before finishing in Glasgow.
The overall victory was taken by Frenchman Romain Feillu who won by just a few hundredths of a second - the closest ever Tour of Britain.
