History
We were created as Powergen from the privatisation of the Central Electricity Generating Board (CEGB) in 1990 and have since grown from being an electricity generator to being the UK's largest integrated power and gas company, generating and distributing electricity, and retailing power and gas.
Since 2002 we have been owned by E.ON AG, the world's largest investor-owned power and gas company, and our non-Retail businesses were rebadged as E.ON two years later.
