E.ON UK's generation business is involved in every link of the energy chain, producing electricity from a portfolio of world-class power stations and researching new technologies to meet the needs of our customer base.
Generation
Our diverse portfolio of 10 coal, gas and oil-fired power stations generates around 10 percent of the UK's electricity using some of the most advanced technologies in the world.
We also own and operate one of the UK’s leading green generation businesses. Producing enough green power to supply the homes of a city the size of Manchester, our renewables portfolio is made up of 20 operational wind farms, an extensive biomass co-firing programme and one of the UK’s largest dedicated biomass power stations. We’ve started building the world’s largest offshore wind farm, London Array in the Thames Estuary and are developing further renewable projects that could supply the needs of over a million homes.
We’re also one of the biggest names in large-scale Combined Heat and Power, with 13 sites across the UK from Kent to Cumbria.
