E.ON is planning to invest €60 billion by the end of 2010 – 70 percent of which is allocated for future growth – in order to expand our business and to grow in our core market in Europe and neighbouring countries.
A total of €12 billion will be spent on the construction of the most modern, more environmentally-friendly generating plants and some €3 billion has been allocated to renewable energy.
Achieving new milestones in energy technology is an important part of our work. We are developing techniques and concepts in areas including renewable energy sources such as geothermal and wind, the production of biogas to natural gas quality, the use of fuel cells in homes, and the reduction of CO2 emissions in our power plants.
