Case study - SHE Olympics
"The purpose of the SHE Olympics was partly to get people thinking more about the important role we each play in protecting our own safety, health and environment."
As we await London 2012 - we held our very own Olympics to raise awareness of safety, health and the environment (SHE).
The SHE Olympics were an eight-week challenge open to employees and contractors, and including eight separate 'disciplines' relating to the three core SHE areas. These were: physical activity; musculoskeletal and manual handling; slips/trips/falls; safety culture; work-life balance; low carbon; occupational road risk; and stress/anxiety/depression.
The purpose of the SHE Olympics was partly to target topics which were our main causes of injury and sickness absence, but also to get people thinking more about the important role we each play in protecting our own safety, health and environment.
Each week, employees faced a new challenge, all of which were fun-based and which could be completed as an individual or as part of a team, with the chance of winning some fantastic prizes.
