"PEDS helps our people personally and gain professional recognition."
The E.ON UK Professional Engineering Development Scheme (PEDS) provides support and guidance for anyone who wants to become a Professional Engineer or Scientific Specialist (Chartered, Incorporated or Engineering Technician). It also provides training for mentors, advice to line managers and organises networking events for anyone involved with the Scheme.
PEDS is accredited by several Engineering Institutions and works with a number of other engineering and science based institutions. This means:
- Graduates know they will get the training and support they need to become Professionally Registered
- E.ON UK is recognised externally as organisation which takes the development of its people, and particularly engineers, seriously
"PEDS helps our people develop personally and gain professional recognition. We work closely with professional bodies to support our people throughout the entire process - from registration right through to final accreditation. At the moment we have around 100 candidates working towards chartered or incorporated membership and it's a figure that's set to grow."
Andy Green
Regional Manager, New Connections Energy Services - PEDS Steering Group Chair
Since its implementation in the 90's (with origins in previous UK businesses), a great number of professional employees and graduates have benefited from the Scheme. EON UK hopes its entire engineering staff will continue to develop their professional qualifications and competence throughout their careers. The scheme has been developed by a steering group from across the business units, and overseen by Bob Taylor, MD, Generation.
