Our Safer Environment Fund is worth £70,000 every year
Safer Environment Fund - School Playground Improvement Project
Our Safer Environment Fund was set up to help local community groups, parish councils and not-for-profit organisations improve their local areas.
In line with our emphasis on safety, all schemes must have a safety and environmental benefit that will have a lasting and positive impact on the community. The fund is worth £70,000 every year and applications are welcome from groups within our region. A maximum of £2,500 is awarded per project.
In 2007 our distribution business awarded £52,738.24 through the fund. Winning applications have included a sensory garden to help children learn more about the environment, a new path for a nature reserve, and the transformation of an area of wasteland into a community garden.
