Workington
This CHP plant supplies Iggesund Paperboard Ltd with up to 49MWe of electricity and 82MWth of process steam at 10bar and 200ºC. The plant consists of a 42MWe gas turbine, a waste heat recovery boiler and a 7MWe steam turbine. In addition there are two existing standby water tube boilers to maintain steam supply during outages of the CHP plant. The plant is natural gas-fired with distillate oil being used as the standby fuel during gas supply interruptions.
