- Western Kentucky Energy (WKE) plant
- Located in Centertown, Kentucky, on a 926 acre site. The plant employs 105 people and began commercial operation in 1986
- Has one coal-fired generating unit with a station net generating capacity of 420MW
- Pollution-control equipment includes a high-efficiency electrostatic precipitator, low NOx burners and a state-of-the-art scrubber that removes more than 90 per cent of the sulphur dioxide from the flue gas
- Burns an average of 185 tonnes of coal per hour
- The plant receives coal by rail, truck and barge
- WKE has met the Clean Air Act's Phase II SO2 and NOx emission limitations at each station through a system-wide average starting in the year 2000
