  • Located in Hawesville, Kentucky, on a 272 acre site, the plant has three coal-fired generating units with a station net generating capacity of 455MW
  • Burns an average of 180 tonnes of coal per hour, which is transported by barge and truck
  • Began commercial operation in 1969 and employs 98 people
  • WKE has met the Clean Air Act's Phase II SO2 and NOx emission limitations at each station through a system-wide average starting in the year 2000
