Successful projects from the last round of funding:
- Apsley Paper Trail, Hemel Hampstead
The Paper Trail project is an activity-based industrial 'exploration' centre built around an historic, fully working paper mill. Frogmore Mill has specialised in recycled papermaking for over 110 years. They continue to operate a Victorian paper mill with a 100 year old, 30 meter long, steam-driven paper machine making 100% recycled paper.
The grant of £30,000 will be used to purchase and install a 2kW water turbine in the existing mill race. - The Christie Hall, Peterborough
The hall provides community facilities to three villages close to Peterborough. The hall is used regularly by groups and during village events.
The grant of £8,500 will be used to purchase and install an air source heat pump, and fan convectors and radiators. - Greenfield Valley Trust, North Wales
The Trust is a 70 acre heritage park comprising: woodland, reservoirs and scheduled monuments. The museum offers activities for schools and other visitors based on wildlife, history and the environment. There have been a number of mills on the site since the 12th century.
The grant of £30,000 will be used to purchase and install a 30 MgwH water turbine on the site of an original industrial water mill. - Stoneraise Community Primary School, Carlisle
Stoneraise Community Primary School is situated on the rural fringe of Carlisle. The school is an important community building with many local organisations making use of its facilities.
The grant of £5,734 will be used to purchase and install a 16kW air source heat pump and 6kW hydro box to provide efficient heating for the school hall. The air source heat pump will be powered by a 5kW wind turbine. - William Pengelly Cave Studies Trust, Plymouth
The Trust was formed with the aim of supporting and conducting cave studies through education programmes. Subjects include geology, palaeontology, climate change and wildlife. The centre is situated within the Dartmoor National Park. The site is a Special Area of Conservation, housing the largest colony of greater horseshoe bats in the UK.
The grant of £6,980 will be used to purchase and install a wood pellet biomass boiler, pellet store, Heatrae storage tank with solar coil and all associated pipe works to connect it to the existing hot water and heating system.

- The Field Studies Council at Slapton Ley Field Study Centre in Devon has been given a grant of £30,000 to install a wood chip boiler, fuel store and associated works
- Hilton Scouts and Guides, Hilton, Derby, has been given a grant of £10,007.58 to install an air source heat pump
- Langley Primary School, Solihull, has been given a grant of £15,000 to install a wind turbine
- North Nibley Village Hall, in Dursley, Gloucestershire, has been given a grant of £8,900 for an energy makeover leading to the installation of a variety of energy efficiency measures
- Sandwich Technology School in Sandwich, Kent, has been given a grant of £15,000 for a wind turbine
- Jesmond Swimming Pool, Newcastle upon Tyne has been given a grant of £19,050 to install a solar thermal system
- Longsdon Memorial Hall, Longsdon, Stoke on Trent, has been given a grant of £3,808 to install insulation and double glazing
- The Magdalen Project, Winsham, Chard has been given a grant of £20,695.41 to install a biomass boiler
- The Monkey Sanctuary in Looe, Cornwall, has been given a grant of £1,822 for a solar thermal system
- Netherhall School in Maryport, Cumbria, has been given a grant of £19,243.52 towards the installation of a wind turbine
- St Mary's Hall, East Leake, Leicestershire, has been given a grant of £650 to install loft insulation
- Wellow Memorial Hall, Newark, Nottinghamshire, has been given a grant of £1,500 for loft and wall insulation.
