Who we work with
E.ON UK works together with a number of organisations to effectively deliver its employee involvement schemes:
National Trust
E.ON UK works very closely with the National Trust for our team challenges, taking part in their Employee Volunteering Programme (EVP). This programme is designed to increase the opportunities for corporate and public sector organisations to contribute to the community and environment and to offer development opportunities to their staff.
In 2006 half of all employee volunteering projects at the National Trust were carried out by E.ON UK employees. This equated to about 420 working days, which is about two full time members of staff.
Business in the Community
Business in the Community (BitC) is a unique movement of over 800 member companies with a further 2,000 plus engaged through various programmes and campaigns. The Cares programme aims to increase the amount of volunteering undertaken by local companies.
E.ON UK is a member of Business in the Community and works very closely with their regional initiatives, Nottinghamshire Cares and Coventry Cares.
‘E.ON UK is an active part of BitC and one of Nottinghamshire Cares' most engaged companies. Together we are really making a difference to our local community.’ Jackie Fuller, BitC Nottinghamshire Cares
Education Business Partnerships
In order to ensure the success of our long-term volunteering initiatives, E.ON works together with our local Education Business Partnerships (EBP). We enlist the help of the EBPs to make sure our volunteers are all checked by the Criminal Records Bureau, trained appropriately and placed in those schools that benefit the most from our initiatives.
E.ON UK currently works with EBPs in Nottinghamshire; Warwickshire; South Yorkshire; Suffolk; Bolton and Bury; Bedford and Essex.
‘Nottinghamshire Education Business Alliance (NEBA) works to ensure that work-related learning and enterprise education is supported by integrated employer engagement at all levels. NEBA has enjoyed a sustained successful partnership with E.ON UK whose employees offer valuable reading support to a number of primary schools and face to face and e-mentoring of secondary students.’ Jan Richardson, Senior Education Business Manager (Strategic), NEBA
Sharing the Caring
Sharing the Caring is the UK’s leading fundraising organisation promoting awareness of Payroll Giving on behalf of a wide range of charities.
E.ON UK works with them to administrate our Payroll Giving initiative. Sharing the Caring is part of the Charities Aid Foundation and any profits from the organisation’s work remain in the voluntary sector.
