Equality and diversity
We comply with the E.ON Group framework for equality and diversity, and our legal requirements under both UK and European Law. Our goal is to prevent any form of unlawful or unfair discrimination and create a working environment in which everyone feels included, valued and respected.
In 2006 we established a diversity leadership group to develop a revised policy for the UK and to promote diversity within the business. The Group began drawing up an action plan which will be implemented during 2007.
Training is available for all managers and, as an example, we implemented training for managers on the UK's age regulations, which came into force in October 2006. All employees also received briefings on the new regulations and we made guidance available on our Intranet site.

This profile is derived from just under 60% of our workforce because we do not yet have full information for businesses acquired by E.ON UK and some employees prefer not to provide this information. We will continue to work hard to increase the coverage of the data to ensure that it is as complete as possible.
Around 13% of our employees work part-time. We regularly review our employment policies to ensure that they support flexible and family-friendly working. We support requests for part-time working wherever possible and also consider specific initiatives favourably when requested, eg term-time working, job shares and career breaks. We will continue to review our policies during 2007 to ensure that they support individuals who balance their careers with other responsibilities.
