Many of our sites around the UK offer information and education facilities for schools and the general public.

Here is information on where you can go, what you can do and how to get in contact with them:

Connah's Quay

Facilities:
Site Tours

  • By prior arrangement with Reception: Dee Estuary nature reserve, field studies centre and hides
  • Nature reserve visits or groups by prior arrangement with Deeside Naturalists' Society, 38 Kelsterton Road, Connah's Quay, Flintshire, CH5 4BJ
  • Individual visits can be made without prior arrangement on nature reserve public open days as advertised on www.deeestuary.co.uk/dns

Ironbridge Power Station

Facilities:
Energy Education Centre

  • Open during normal school term times, 9.00 - 21.30 hrs
  • All group visits by prior arrangement
  • Classroom with hands-on activities, audio visual room, interpretation board and guided tour

Buildwas Nature Trail

  • Pre-arranged visits   available to study habitats, geography, history and map work
  • Additional public access all year, leaflets available from gatehouse. All equipment provided.

Rheidol Hydro Power Station

Facilities:
Public Visitor Centre

  • Open 10.00 - 16.15 hrs, Easter weekend and then April 30 - September 30
  • Exhibitions, interactive displays and cafeteria.

Site tours

  • 11.00 - 15.30 hrs
  • Guided tours are available daily throughout the season. No booking necessary.
  • Group tours are available all year round by prior appointment.

Fishing

  • Fish for trout in one of the three lakes. Easy access is available for disabled anglers at Dinas lake.

Cwm Rheidol Dam

  • Enjoy a romantic view of the floodlit Felin Newydd weir. Lit from dusk until 23.00 hrs (BST), 22.00 hrs (GMT).

Scenic Drive and Nature Trail

  • Tour around the scenic upland reservoirs or walk along a delightful nature trail.
