Powergen sponsors the Rugby Union Powergen Cup and the Rugby League Powergen Challenge Cup. We also sponsor Ipswich Town Football Club.

 

Rugby union

As well as sponsoring the Powergen Cup, the national knockout cup involving 132 rugby clubs around the country, we're also involved in rugby union on a number of levels, from the elite professional clubs to local rugby clubs. In addition to the Powergen Cup, our three-year sponsorship commitment to England Rugby includes the Powergen Challenge Shield, Powergen Intermediate Cup, Powergen Junior Vase, Northern, South West, Midlands and London & South East divisional leagues, and the Powergen National Community Programme. We're also the Official Energy Partner to England Rugby.  

Rugby league

As well as sponsoring the Rugby League Challenge Cup, Powergen's partnership with rugby league extends to an association with the Great Britain Test team, Tetley's Super League and the National Leagues as the Rugby Football League's official energy supplier. Powergen is also proud to sponsor all RFL match officials. We also sponsor the Champion Schools Tournament, aimed at promoting rugby league within schools around the UK and increasing grassroots support for the game. The tournament is a knockout competition involving more than 1,000 school teams with over 16,000 girls and boys of all ages.  

Football

Based in East Anglia, one of our customer heartlands, Ipswich Town Football Club currently plays in Nationwide Division One and enjoys a huge following of fans throughout the region. As main sponsor, we have forged an excellent relationship with the club on all levels and, as the season progresses, we are developing a series of unique promotions and opportunities for fans and customers to help show how much we're committed to both the club and the wider community. The Powergen logo was launched on the playing shirts at the start of the season, with fans able to buy replica kit and other ITFC merchandise through the club shops or online. As part of our overall sponsorship of Ipswich Town FC, we are also the main sponsor of the ITFC Education and Sports Trust, which helps more than 70,000 children every year.
