Routes through the activities
There are several ways to use the E.ON Energy Experience resources. You could explore them through a mini-project for example, basing half a term’s science on the theme of ‘energy’.The table below shows how the online challenges
and activity cards
tie in with the topics of electricity, energy and the environment, saving energy and safety.

A focused mini-project
You can focus on one of the four central topics of the resource – electricity, energy and the environment, saving energy or safety – by introducing the topic to pupils with an online challenge or activity card then letting pupils explore the topic further by completing the online challenge or activity card in groups or individually.
A major energy project
You can base your planning around the four topics of the E.ON Energy Experience – Electricity, Energy and the environment, Saving energy and Safety.
Each topic can be explored through online challenges and/or activity cards as outlined in the table above The information cards summarise the key ideas for pupils and can help them tackle the activity cards.
Introduce topics by demonstrating how the online challenges work before encouraging pupils to tackle the online challenges individually or in pairs, then working through the activity cards. If you are not using the online challenges, you can introduce and reinforce the topics using the activity cards and information cards. Support should be provided where necessary.
A single activity
You can use individual online challenges or activity cards flexibly to address the needs of your pupils such as supplementing their learning during lessons or given as a homework activity. The activities can be used to reinforce pupils’ understanding of energy, find out about renewable and non-renewable energy sources or support other science and geography topics.
