Central Networks

How long?  20 months
Where?  East/West Midlands
Scheme Development: Professional Engineering Development Scheme (PEDS)

Bright spark?

You'll be part of Central Networks, our electricity distribution business.

You'll be joining a business providing power to nearly five million customers across central England. Through a network of 97,000 substations and 133,000km of underground cables and overhead lines.

We'll help you understand our network and how it works - and the key areas of safety, health and the environment.

And you'll learn how we meet our regulatory responsibilities and the challenges we face.

Want some responsibility?

We'll support you through a series of placements in Central Networks. And you'll also gain experience in another area of our business.

You'll be learning on the job - in real life projects and roles with responsibility. And we'll work with you to build your operational and technical skills.

What's next?

You'll finish the scheme as a highly skilled engineer.

Then we'll help you develop your operational and technical skills even further with a two year operational project manager placement and an 18 month technical engineering role placement.

So you can look forward to a rewarding and long lasting career.

What we need from you

You'll have a 2:2 degree or higher in engineering (general, electrical, electronic, mechanical or EC&I).
